Overview:
The Lee Public Schools seeks an Accounting/Payroll Specialist to join the district’s Business Office.   This role will work under the guidance of an assigned Business Administrator (mentor) and the Superintendent of Schools, in delivering business and operational functions.  This position will work cooperatively with the Superintendent’s Office, Maintenance and Facilities Department, Food Services, Special Education, School Principals, Purchasing, Athletics, the Transportation Department, and a variety of external stakeholders.
It is expected the individual in this position will participate in ongoing training and education, working towards a School Business Administrator credential. 

Job Responsibilities:
The Accounting/Payroll Specialist responsibilities include:
·         Payroll (bi-weekly), including retirement, deductions, longevity, and stipends
·         Accounting and budget oversight
·         Compliance with and support for local, state, and federal reporting
·         Grants oversight
·         Budget controls, including supervision of financial and credit tracking
·         Revolving accounts
·         Supervision of fund collection, safekeeping, and distribution
·         Projections of revenue and expenditures
·         Support for warrant development
·         Track employee leave, including FMLA
·         Support procurement of services and contracts
·         Maintain availability in service to Lee Schools’ employees
·         Work with external stakeholders including the Town of Lee, the Department of Education, contractors and vendors, and grant awarding organizations
·         Additional task as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools
Qualifications:
·         Bachelor’s degree in related finance and/or accounting field
·         Recommended four years’ experience in finance and/or accounting
·         Knowledge of accounting software systems
·         Ability to problem solve and learn/apply new skills and information
·         Ability to work effectively with a range of school and community stakeholders
·         Exceptional organizational skills with a strong ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to work independently on a variety of tasks simultaneously
·         Strong communication skills including speaking and writing
·         Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of financial/accounting software and systems

General Job Description: The Business Administrator will develop and manage the fiscal affairs of the District and serve as operational support to a part-time superintendent. This position will oversee the services provided by the Maintenance and Facilities Department, Food Services Department, Purchasing and Accounting Department, and Transportation Department.

This position will be distinguished by requiring experience with and knowledge of budget development and control in an educational setting, and have a working knowledge of the district, county, state and federal regulations related to financial operation, food service, transportation and facilities management.  The position will serve as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, and require the ability to lead, manage and evaluate, communicate and problem solve, and work with the public and local, state, and federal agencies.  This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:   Working in cooperation with appropriate district supervisors, teachers, parents and students, shall be responsible for providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language and hearing disorders helping students to adjust and access the general education curriculum.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 
      Planning and implementing day-to-day speech/language therapy activities for students, sets up equipment for student assignments individually or in small groups, serves an as appropriate speech and language model.
      Screening students for potential communication remediation needs.
      Plan and adapt appropriate materials and intervention activities.
      Evaluates and report on students’ day-to-day progress; gathers information from students, parents, and staff; maintains continuous communication with speech language pathologist regarding student progress and program effectiveness.
      Participates in parent conferences as required; attends departmental, building, and IEP/504 meetings; create IEP/504, and understand the processes associated.
      Provides speech/language activities for students at single or multiple sites, as assigned; travels between schools for therapy sessions; plans travel times; informs building staff of therapy schedule.
      Prepares and maintains speech/language therapy files; completes and files required forms.

Overview: 
The Lee Public Schools seeks two positions that will support the recently awarded Berkshire United Way grant funded Expressive Arts (EA) program at the Lee Elementary School.  The positions are:
·         Therapeutic Arts Facilitators
The Expressive Arts program will focus on elementary aged students (K-1) in applying arts education in a safe and student-centered environment, as a mechanism to enhance protective factors of children at high risk of adverse childhood experience.  This program will occur before and after school throughout the 2019-20 school year. 

The Lead Teacher and School Adjustment Counselor will work with Lee Elementary administrative staff to recruit, plan, deliver, monitor, and evaluate the EA program.  The curriculum will be grounded in therapeutic arts and trauma-informed research and practice.  The goals of the program are to increase (for participating students) socio-economic competencies, improve self-regulation abilities, and increase positive connections with caring adults.  

The EA Team will also work with parents in reinforcing strategies to support their children during out of school time, as well as LES classroom teachers.  The EA Team will be expected to keep clear data and file reports as is consistent with the grant/funder expectations. 

Compensation/Duration:
The positions will be stipend funded at $5,000 each for the 2019-20 school year.  This will require before and after schoolwork in planning for and delivering the EA program.

Requirements:
The persons filling these roles must have experience with K12 school settings, access and familiarity with the Lee Elementary School community, and appropriate academic and licensure credentials.  They must be highly organized, personable, able to work with a variety of stakeholders, and deeply committed to generating outcomes for students in the Lee Public Schools.

Overview: 
The Lee Public Schools seeks a part-time grants coordinator to support two recently awarded Berkshire United Way grants. 

These two grants include:  1) Expressive Arts - with a focus on elementary aged students (K-1) in applying arts education in a safe and student-centered environment, as a mechanism to enhance protective factors of children at high risk of adverse childhood experience.  This program will occur before and after school.   2) Bridge to College and Career Program - which will provide early college experiences including credited college courses, career awareness and exploration including field experiences, college readiness curriculum, and the enhancement of college and career attitudes, skills, and aspirations.  The program will target high school students in, primarily, an intensive summer academy.

The Coordinator will be responsible for grant planning and delivery in concert with advisory teams and school administrators/staff.  This will entail budgeting, logistics, program evaluation, problem solving, staff assignment and management, and curriculum design – for example.  Additionally, the Coordinator will serve as the primary liaison between the Lee Public Schools and the Berkshire United Way in meeting reporting requirements, participating in training, and providing ongoing program updates – including a year 2 continuation application.

Compensation/Duration:
This position is expected to be approximately one day per week (.2 FTE) arrangement, approximately 8 hours per week, at an hourly rate consistent with established contracts.  This assignment is for one year (September 1, 2019 through August 1, 2020) with a year two renewal contingent upon grant funding and role performance.

Requirements:
The person filling the Coordinator role must have experience with K12 school settings, have experience working with grants (such as Berkshire United Way), be highly organized, be personable and able to work with a variety of stakeholders, have experience with data and reporting demands, and be committed to generating outcomes for students in the Lee Public Schools.   While not required, licensure as a teacher or school administrator is preferred.
